Consignment

The best situation for consigning any arms and armor is to preferrably have them in hand. I not only prefer to take my own photos, I want to make sure the items I am selling are authentic. If there are any restorations or cleaning, that information needs to be given to me before the start of sale. Honesty is foremost, the best business practice when dealing in arms and armor.

There are situations, (i.e. when dealing with large objects like cannons) that the consignee

In most situations, the item as is will be 20% commission. If you would like to sell an item for $1000, I will list it on my site for $1200.
If I believe the item needs no restoration and can be sold at a higher price, the commission is still 20%.

If the item needs restoration and professional cleaning, I will list it for the appropriate amount and the seller and the consignee will split the profit. This is the most profitable situation for both the seller and consignee. For example: You would like to sell a Japanese sword for $1000. I believe with proper restoration, professional cleaning, and paperwork, the sword would sell for $3500. After the sale, I would pay the consignee $1000 + 50% 2500 profit = $2250. My half of the profit will pay for restoration, research, paperwork etc.
